Our house is located near the centre of Ubud close to many famous places like the Neka Museum, the Puri Dalem, a beautiful Balinese temple on the banks of the river Wos, Ubud Art Museum, Puri Lukisan, Ubud’s Royal Palaces, Monkey Forest and Campuhan Hotel, the former home of one of Bali’s famous artists Walter Spies.
Ubud hosts a writers’ festival every year and is still a major venue for Balinese arts and culture. There are wonderful spas, yoga centres close by as well as more vigorous activities like mountain biking, white water rafting and walking tours. Restaurants for all tastes and pockets abound. Bali”s own local culture is one of the main attraction and whenever you come you’ll be bound to be caught up in one or other ceremony which are beautifully colourful and tremendously moving at the same time.
We are north of the major tourist sites like Nusa Dua, Sanur, Kuta, Legian and Seminjak in the province of Gianjar.
Though we don’t have beaches close by we have wonderful volcanoes encircling the island and at 400 metres above sea level the climate is always very pleasant with a wonderful balmy breeze even on the hottest days.
